Currently, more than half of the world’s population lives in cities, which are the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions. Due to the rapid growth of population and economy, the use of resources beyond limits has made global warming a threat to living things and ecosystems. Urban expansion is a factor accelerating the increase in global temperatures and causing various disasters. Therefore, the management of the urban environment with planning and sustainability to cope with future changes is necessary.
WWF Foundation promotes campaigns and changes in energy efficiency patterns, including renewable energy initiatives, and supports both government and private sectors to recognize the importance of energy conservation in order to control the increase in global temperatures to no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius and “change” cities to be “ sustainably ” livable .
Every year in the last week of March, we have an event to unite people from all over the world in “ Earth Hour”. Turn off the lights for the world, change for the future. Join us in turning off the lights for 1 hour and show the power of conservation together.
You can be part of the conservation work with us.
