Oceans

The ocean covers more than two-thirds of the Earth’s surface.
It is also home to many living things, including our important ecosystems.

As the world population increases, it has a serious impact on marine ecosystems.
The main factors are unsustainable fishing and marine pollution and climate change.

The goals of the WWF Foundation
regarding marine conservation activities.

Reducing plastic waste leaking from cities into rivers and seas

WWF Foundation focuses on building networks at both national and international levels to create good practices and exchange knowledge to prevent plastic waste from flowing from cities to rivers and oceans by promoting plastic reduction, changing consumer behaviors and creating effective plastic waste disposal systems.

Sustainable management of coastal fisheries and aquaculture

WWF promotes efforts to improve fisheries, aquaculture and food consumption for long-term food security.

Protecting important aquatic species and reducing the overuse of resources

WWF Foundation supports and promotes policies to strengthen laws and law enforcement capacity and supports field patrols in partnership with local communities, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), the private sector and relevant law enforcement agencies.
